poisoned
This piece was inspired by the unfortunate fact that most loons are poisoned by mercury and lead. Mercury from the increasing levels from the fish they eat and lead from swallowing lures. I have seen first hand the depletion of Loons in New Hampshire where I spent time every Summer over the course of a decade.

Dwindle
This piece was inspired by endangered species whose ranges all overlap in North Eastern North Carolina. Specifically, the Red Wolf and Beach Morning Glory have suffered primarily due to habitat loss. On the other hand, the Northern Long-Eared Bats have been devastated by White Nose Syndrome. In this fantastical depiction, they are all linked, though in reality they are like ships passing each other from day to night.
